Thank you, Sue. You have been such an important support to me this year. Thank you for all the prayers, the chats, and especially thank you for making the time to come and spend time with me so we could go to the conference together. What a highlight of the year that was for me! Thank for the good wishes. Know that I am praying for trust, peace, and rest for you and yours too as we head into 2025.
Sally, I don't think I have a current email for you. You left a comment on my blog with only an address in it -- Fair View, etc. I haven't posted it yet as a comment (I can, but wasn't sure if it was a mistake. Seemed like one.) Meanwhile, a very happy New Year to you. This post is a stunner with both good and challenging but you made it! And now, onward! Let me know if I should delete the comment.
Jeanie, I have sent you a private message on Substack. Let me know if you don’t get it. I also sent you a private email to the last email address I have for you. Let me know if you got that too. I sent the email so you would have my email address.
Yes, please delete my comment that never quite became a comment on your blog. It was an uncompleted comment. I don’t know what happened, but for whatever reason my address got published and then I noticed my comment didn’t. 🤷🏼♀️
Happy New Year friend! I so appreciate the loyal reader and friend that you are. And I love reading your delightful posts on Blogger too. Always have! You are the ultimate blogger! I wish there were some way to give you the blogger of the year award. Hugs.
Sally, beautiful testimony of faith and perseverance. You write so beautifully. A blessing in my life this year was to meet you in person, after five years of online friendship. Looking forward to more in person encounters as I move my son to Pueblo where I can stay. Happy 2025 ❤️
Thank you, Sarah. Certainly, one of the highlights of this past year was spending time with you in real person. You have been such a generous, wise, and kind support to me in all the friendship kind of ways, and as a fellow writing. I am so happy to know I can look forward to more time with you to come as you will be moving your son nearby. Have a very happy new year!
Sally, I am horrified to see all these trials listed in one place and realize all you have endured this year. Your perseverance, courage, and faith are so inspiring. Thank God we don’t know the future. And thank you for teaching us that the beat we can do is be present and treasure each day for the gift it is. Sending love…
Elizabeth, even for me when late in the year I sat down and listed all that I had been dealing with in a year’s time, I was quite shocked. Sometimes, we just let news that is bad roll over us as we gear up to take care of what has to be taken care of. Anyway, I do that, and I know many from my generation do the same. It is when we sit and take the time to actually make a list of all that occurs in a span of time that we wonder how we endured or pressed on. I do think we are given a large measure of grace, it is true, the great blessing is that we don’t know what might be up the road to happen next. Learning to be present and not try to get ahead of things in trying to fix what isn’t mine to fix, and learning not to space out, another coping mechanism that isn’t healthy, is what I am trying to learn. As we head into this new year, may you treasure each day. I too hope to learn to do that better. Hugs and love to you.
Oh Sally, so beautifully written and takes us into all of those moments alongside you - or as close as. You are amazing, and I'm sending so much love for the year ahead, for you and all of yours, and the BIGGEST 🤗. Your opening words about pilgrimage are so powerful, and what you say about place. Oof. So much ❤️.XOXO
What a year you have had! I pray that 2025 brings a less eventful year with lots of peace and rest.
